Displayed in the RGS-IBG Exhibition Pavilion, accessible from our Exhibition Road entrance

Nearly one million African people were freed from slavery in the Caribbean in 1838. This exhibit celebrates those who fought enslavement and others who worked for better social, economic, and cultural conditions. Organised and curated by the Windrush Foundation; funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
