All Primary and Secondary schools in Enfield have been invited to participate in this Street March as pupils, teachers and the local community join together in a show of unity. The March route will pass the scenes where young people have lost their lives within the borough and each life will be commemorated during the procession. At the end of the March a number of workshops and short seminars to help empower young people directly affected by gun & knife crime, will commence at Latymer All Saints School. The workshops will be run by St John’s Ambulance, and AVA (Against Violence & Abuse Project) and more to be confirmed on the day.. “This march is an ongoing effort to stop the destruction of our youth and community by violence,” said Pastor Agdomar, local minister and an organizer of the S.A.V.E. Anti Youth Violence March. “It creates a community consciousness in the young people about becoming actively involved in reducing violence and improving our borough for themselves and future generations.” Notable attendees include David Burrowes MP for Enfield and Southgate, Siobhan Benita independent candidate in the 2012 London mayoral election and local councillors Christina During and Kate Anoule. This will be a community event that is being organized by a coalition of concerned school governors, students, parents, community-based organizations, churches and families who have lost their loved ones to community violence.
